Think & Reflect~~~

Salam,

There is a polish for everything that takes away rust; and the polish for the heart is the remembrance of Allah.

~ The Prophet (PBUH) said: "A woman may be married for four reasons: her wealth, her lineage (family status), her beauty or her religious commitment; Choose the one who is religious and you will prosper.” {62:27, Sahih Bukhari}
~ In another hadith, the Prophet (PBUH) said: "The whole world is a provision, and the best object of benefit of the world is the pious woman." {8:3465, Sahih Muslim}
~ Abu Bakr (RA) once asked Rasulallah (PBUH) what was the best thing to be treasured, and he (PBUH) replied: "the tongue in remembrance of Allah, the heart filled with thanks to Allah, and a pious wife who helps in virtuous deeds."

True, beauty and charm is hard to resist, yet beauty does not last forever. Financial status is dynamic, and so is worldly status, yet religion strongly establishes a household, and it may be that through your intention of marrying her for her religion, the rest is given to you anyway.

If marriage completes half our faith, shouldn't that half be the best half? A woman married for the wrong reasons can only weaken the Muslim household. Consider that she will be your life-long companion and the rearer of your children. Don't marry her for her worldly wealth, but for her wealth in Islamic wisdom and knowledge. Her status in this life is illusionary, so choose her for her status in the sight of Allah. Beauty is but superficial, but the beauty of Imaan is transcendent.

"And indeed We have created man, and We know what his own-self whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge)." {Surah Qâf, Verse 16}

Having Imaan is like riding a plane - the higher you go, the smaller the things on Earth appear.

73:135, Sahih Bukhari

Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 23

Aameen!

Have you ever wondered how it would be if we treated our Qur'an the way we treat our mobile phones.

~ What if we carried it in our bags and browsed it often?
~ What if we turned back to get it if we forgot it?
~ What if we flipped through it several times a day?
~ What if we used it to receive Messages from the Text?
~ What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
~ What if we gave it to our dear ones as gifts?
~ What if we considered it as the number one priority while travelling?
~ What if we used it in case of an emergency?

It is certainly not justified that The Qur’an, a treasure from Allah, Rabbil aalameen be compared to the usage of a man-made mobile phone. However, the sole purpose of this reminder is to make us realize the considerable amount of time we spend with our gadgets and the negligible amount of time we spend with our Creator’s Gift – The Holy Qur’an.

Although most of us prefer reading a personal hard copy, advancement in technology has made it possible for us to stay connected with the Holy Qur’an on our mobile phones. Nevertheless, the ultimate question remains – How dedicated are we in reading, comprehending and acting upon the Qur’an? Ask yourself.

“Do they not then earnestly seek to understand the Qur'an, or are their hearts locked up by them?” {Surah Muĥammad, Verse 24}

Etiquette of Speech - Four Important Reminders from the Holy Qur'aan

1. "And say to My slaves (i.e. the true believers of Islamic Monotheism) that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitan (Satan) verily, sows disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is to man a plain enemy." {Surah Al-'Isrā', Verse 53}

2. "And be moderate in your walking, and lower your voice. Verily, the harshest of all voices is the voice (braying) of the ass." {Surah Luqmān, Verse 19}

3. Successful indeed are the believers. Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. And those who turn away from dirty, false, evil vain talk and all that Allah has forbidden." {Surah Al-Mu'minūn, Verses 1-3}

4. "O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice." {Surah Al-'Aĥzāb, Verse 70}

In a nutshell, speak good words with truth and justice in a humble tone and refrain from evil vain talk.
